For one year, art and culture were invited to play a leading role in Linz.
A guest performance that has ended now?

The program book of rejected and withdrawn projects exists as a segment of
what was not part of the Capital of Culture year 2009.

We were interested in the game rules that determined who or what could be part
of an exceptional year like this and under which conditions. Renowned authors
supported our publication with their critical essays on the construct “Capital
of Culture”.

On 29 December 2009 the remaining Linz0nein books will be turned into a
manifesto-like art work live and on site. With this action the year of a
“state of exception” ends for us as well and marks the start of “normal
conditions”, which will indicate how much appreciation the city of Linz will
devote to art and culture in the future.

Remaining copies of the Linz0nein books are available until 29 December in
selected bookshops in Linz!
